Helen Kippax & Associates is delighted to offer the collection

of fashion sketches from the estate of local Larchmont artist,

                                     Phyllis McDonald Schoenberger.

Included are drawings from Phyllis's time at Parson's and Conde Nast where she was an illustrator for the Vogue pattern manuals.

Her extraordinary ability to draw the human form in pen and ink, capturing the elegance of the era is front and center in the sketches: Lanvin, Balmain, Dior, Balenciaga...The American woman wanted to be dressed like the women abroad.

The faces and expressions of her models tell you their pedigree and the allure of looking like them in these stylish outfits sold the product. From swimsuits and bathing caps, party dresses to day wear, Phyllis'  talents elevated the fashion sketch to an artform.

Most of these drawings are on 18 x 24 sketch book paper and many with work notations  and condition issues. Cropped and framed they will still offer a striking visual. All purchases are being offered in 'as in' condition.
