Larchmont Residence Library

Before & After Story

The narrow library had kitchen quality wood stained book cases, poor lighting and a dated love seat. Most economical route was to rework the existing bookshelves by setting back the lower cupboards gaining half a foot of additional floor space.  Adding recessed lighting and classic brass library lights warmed the shelving and room.  Owner wished to reuse a green toned oriental carpet which established the color scheme.  Once reconfigured, bookcases were painted green with a soft yellow back wall contrast and green grass paper helped unify the room. All window and molding woodwork  was painted the same green cocooning the small room. A custom sofa with a 32" depth  maximized floor space while we look for a low narrow coffee table. Once all the above was in place, the original curtains snapped back !
